camp lone tree (701 eateries' upstairs camp-inspired bar/restaurant) hosted a speed dating/singles event for valentines day and needed a card design (2 questions per card, with each card having 2 genre of question, with a total of 20 cards per table). with a very rough initial idea given by the event coordinator, i had 12 hours to brainstorm, get feedback and create the final printable ready for the event.
i spent time on pinterest finding inspiration that felt campy and fun, with neo-retro vibes that 701 encapsulates, while keeping the market demographic (gen z and millennial singles) in mind. i fell in love with retro-style anthropomorphized characters and found sticking to symbols that obviously represent valentines day were best with all things in mind.
characters and font were drawn in procreate, and layout in photoshop.
